Better Late Than Never - Independence Day Skiing at A Basin - Mon, 7/4/2011

Arapahoe Basin was the last resort to close in Colorado, staying open until the Fourth of July. They managed to groom a few runs from top to bottom, allowing a good amount of veritical for the middle of Summer.

Summer Skiing at Arapahoe Basin - Sun, 6/26/2011

Skiing in June? You bet. There's warm weather, bathing suits, beer, and a giant, ice-cold pond for those daring enough make the dash across. This past weekend was a perfect opportunity to get some late season turns in. There wasn't a single cloud in the sky at A Basin yesterday. Next weekend, A Basin will end its epic season on July 4th. Reel Big Fish performed a free concert at Copper Mountain last Sunday for Copper's closing day. There were also ten inches of fresh pow for the last day of the season.

Fishing near Denver in Cherry Creek Reservoir - Sun, 4/3/2011

Cherry Creek Reservoir is a large dam and lake, located near I-25 and I-225. It is a public park that is open year round. You can go fishing for several different types of fish at Cherry Creek Reservoir.


Fishing in Evergreen, Colorado - 3/20/2011

Evergreen is a beautiful mountain town located about 40 minutes from Denver. There is a large dammed lake in the middle of town right next to Evergreen Golf Course. The fishing this past weekend was good and we caught two trout. There is a hiking trail that goes around the entire dam in Evergreen. You can fish all around the lake or directly into the dam.

Keystone and Copper Mountain - 3/6 - 3/7/2011

This past weekend another storm rolled through the Rockies and blanketed most of the Colorado ski areas with fresh snow. There were good lines at Keystone Resort on Sunday and even better conditions on Monday at Copper Mountain. Keystone-Copper Ski Blog continued...


Great Conditions at Ski Cooper - Mon 2/28/2011

Ski Cooper offers a free lift ticket in February with the purchase of a Colorado GEM's Card (available each season for $10). On the last day to use the free pass, we headed up past Leadville, for a enjoyable day of riding at Ski Cooper.

Breckenridge via South Park City - Sun 2/20/2011

Breckenridge got hit hard this past President's Day weekend, so we decided to head up the night before to dodge the traffic. All affordable hotels were booked up in Summit County, so we stayed 30 minutes south of Breckenridge in Fairplay, CO, aka South Park.

Cold, Snowy Day @ Mary Jane Resort - Tuesday, 2/8/2010

The Rocky Mountains have been getting blasted lately with lots of cold, dry snowfall. I went up to Winter Park Ski Resort yesterday and enjoyed an almost empty Mary Jane Mountain with plenty of quality pow. It was freezing out at less than 0 degrees and a windchill in the negative teens.

I lasted two hours before retreating to Pepperonis (pizza restaurant located at base of Mary Jane) for some Microbrew and a slice of pie.
Denver Big Air - Civic Center - Jan. 25-26

Powder Day at Vail - Thursday,1/20/11

The 15 inches of fresh powder yesterday at Vail forced me to take the day off and head up to the high country. It was of course worth it, but if you missed out yesterday, no worries. There is snow predicted for the next 5 days at Vail, and around most of the Rocky Mountains.

The Rocky Mountains were blanketed with plenty of fresh snow last night, with lots more predicted through the week. (Vail Weather Report). So, take a day off work and head up to the slopes.
