About Orvis Hot Springs
General:
Orvis Hot Springs is a great Colorado hot springs resort located in between Ridgway and Ouray. CO. There are several different pools to soak in at Orvis, each one nicely laid out with spectacular views of the San Juan Mountains. Towering in the distance is 14,150 foot Mount Sneffels.
Facility:
Orvis Hot Springs has multiple outdoor pools each unique in design and temperature.
The Pond - 40 feet across, 5 feet at deepest, 100-106 degrees.
Island Pond - A newer cozy pool that is 20 feet across, 8 feet long, 2 feet deep.
Smoker's Pond - 8 feet around, 103-107 degrees.
Lobster Pot - as the name implies, this one is the hottest, 108-114 degrees
Indoor there is a public pool that averages about 3 feet deep and 101 degrees F. Also inside are two private hot tubs. The first hot tub is free with admission and first come first serve. The second one is rented out at an additional fee. Both average between 102 and 110 degrees.
You can stay the night at Orvis either inside in a warm room on outside camping. You can set up RV or Tent camping for only $33 night, which includes arrival day and next day access to the hot springs.
Atmosphere:
Clothing optional in some areas. No alcohol or glass on any of the grounds.
