About Crested Butte Ski Resort

General:
Most people have heard of Crested Butte, but know little about it. This Colorado ski resort is located deep in the Rocky Mountains and offers big-time skiing without the hustle and bustle of the I-70 ski resorts. Crested Butte is not the largest resort in the state at only 1167 acres, but the terrain diversity and cool mountain town keep people coming back.

It is roughly a five hour drive from Denver, 4 hours if you are me. This usually equals zero lift lines, even during peak season.

Terrain:
Crested Butte has a good amount of interesting, expert terrain. There are lots of double black runs to keep you entertained and your adrenaline pumping. You can also hike and shred some lines directly from the iconic Crested Butte Mountain.

For the beginner/intermediate skiers and riders, there are plenty of easier trails, which naturally progress to more difficult runs the further you get from the mountain village.

Village:
Crested Butte has both a mountain village and historic downtown. The town is often praised for its unspoiled feel. You don't have Starbucks and other franchises popping up on every corner and the locals are laid-back and happy to help.

The mountain village mainly consists of hotels, spas, and a few restaurants. In town, visit Paradise Cafe for some great pancakes or French toast to start your day.
