There are natural hot mineral springs all over the state of Colorado. Visiting them is a fantastic thing to do when passing through the state. It is a great activity after a grueling day on the slopes, hiking a mountain, or just for the heck of it. Many therapeutic health benefits are gained from a soak in these mineral waters. Day rates at hot springs resorts are affordable, so add them to your cheap luxury travel itinerary.

The hot springs you visit in Colorado are comprised of natural mineral water that heats up under the Earth's crust and emerges in numerous places around the state. Magma deep underground heats the water and pushes it up to the surface, bringing along many healthy vitamins and minerals.

Some of the hot springs destinations smell of sulfur or rotten eggs, and some do not. Most of the hot springs in Colorado are at least 98º and can creep as high as 115º, and even hotter at the source. Most places provide a nice variety of temperatures to suit each guest. As with hot tubs and Jacuzzis, it's best not to soak for more than 20-30 minutes without cooling off, less if the temperatures are real hot).
